Midwest Sing & Stomp presents: Square Dance & Cajun Fais do-do 3/24/19

We’ve thought for a while now that doing just one big event a year isn’t enough. We want to have opportunities to dance, hear great bands that may not have been featured at the festival, put on events in collaboration with other communities–and generally to put on great shows we dream up that sound fun to us and our friends. MARCH 24TH | 2PM | BEAT KITCHEN | $10 | 21+

A Sunday afternoon of squares, two-steps and waltzes, with some of the best cajun and old-time music in town. Beginners welcome–instruction will be provided! Tickets on sale now at the Beat Kitchen.

Maggie Jo has been calling contra dances since she was fifteen, and contra dancing since she can remember. Incorporating her theatre and improv training into her calling, she brings a unique, youthful energy and enthusiasm to any dance. She’s an in-demand caller at local dances and dance weekends all over the country, including Queer Contra Chicago, LEAF, and Vermont’s Youth Dance Weekend.
